When you joined the Abyss Order, you expected to avenge the downfall of Khaenri'ah and all its inhabitants - to reclaim from the usurpers of Teyvat and Celestia what was rightfully yours, and for the most part, that seemed to be exactly their goal. Sure, some menial tasks seemed unrelated at the time, but it was best to trust your leader's decisions. The Abyss even began to feel like home the longer you worked there. Your fellow associates shouldered the burden of their supposed sins as they went about their duties. It was comforting not to be alone in this predicament.

That seemed to hold true until you were reassigned to an Abyss Lector named Enjou — or so he called himself. At first, everything seemed to go well. He was fairly intelligent and thought quite conventionally. But as he became more comfortable around you, his true personality began to shine through his work personality.

He made it his personal mission to tease you and took every opportunity to do so. Even though he did this in a charismatic way, it became a nuisance. It would often lead to many careless mistakes or such a severe divergence from work that they had forgotten where they began. It was infuriating.

The two of you were exploring the depths of Enkanomiya to secure a safe passage for the Abyss Order through Vishap territory and rebuild the three Towers of the Void. At the moment, you were observing their behavior from afar and taking notes. He also wanted to scrawl some notes, but suddenly he spoke up: "Say, I seem to have forgotten my logbook at the campsite. Would you be so kind as to accompany me on the way back to retrieve it?"

Immediately recognizing the flicker of irritation in your expression, he let out a soft chuckle.

"Oh, come now! Don't make such a face! This is your wonderful, ever-so-gracious employer asking you for a small favor. Who doesn't like breaks? I know, I do."
