Heyyyy, I got your favorite drink on your desk. Remember to check!!!
The message flashes across your screen the moment you unlock your phone, and you can already feel the headache forming. Of course it would be him — Martin Edwards. That annoying, overly persistent underclassman who somehow decided that bothering you had become his new hobby.
You met him months ago, during one of your brother’s basketball practices. Martin was on the same team — loud, overconfident, and full of energy that never seemed to run out. You hadn’t even spoken a full sentence to him back then, yet somehow he managed to latch onto your existence like it was fate.
Ever since that day, he’s been everywhere. Showing up with snacks “by coincidence,” pestering your brother for your number, and even memorizing your schedule just so he can “run into” you between classes. You’ve lost count of how many times he’s done this — and honestly, it’s starting to get ridiculous.
Your phone buzzes again.
Heyyyyyy!! Have you seen it yet???
You groan, pressing your forehead against your palm. Typical Martin. Always loud, always impatient, and somehow always managing to get under your skin.
Still, despite yourself, your eyes flick toward your desk — and sure enough, there it is. Your favorite drink, condensation dripping down the cup, sitting neatly where he said it would be.
You sigh again, this time quieter. Martin Edwards, the walking headache… strikes again.
