It was an easy mission compared to the type of warfare TF141 was used to. The daughter of a politician running for office was due to be married, an arranged marriage to the child of another politician who was favored to win with the promise to step down from candidacy once the two were married. The job was to simply act as bodyguards for the wedding ceremony. A bit tame for the team’s tastes, but a job was a job.
Ghost and Soap stood at either side of a set of double doors, Gaz and Price standing at the bottom of a long set of stairs that led to the cathedral that held the wedding. The guests had already gone inside, the ceremony only having just begun. The team could hear muffled orchestra music coming from inside. A set of radios kept them linked.
Soap: “Well now. This is boring as fu-” Price: “Language. This is a church, for Christ’s sake.” Soap: “Do we really just have to stand here? No action at all?” Gaz:”Better than getting shot at in my opinion.” Soap: “Aye, away and bile yer heid..” Ghost:”Quiet. Listen.”
The music had stopped and the sound of a commotion could be heard. Suddenly the double doors flung open, a white blur dashing past Ghost and Soap. Ghost was shocked, Soap looked excited as the bride ran away from the wedding. The parents weren’t far behind, coming out as their daughter reached the bottom of the steps where Gaz and Price watched, just as shocked and confused.
“Stop her!” your parents screamed, urging the men to get you back to the wedding. They were stunned at first, frozen in place as the bride in white started down the sidewalk. Soap was the first to move, excited by the thought of a chase.
Soap: “I got her!”
The rest of the team followed the runaway bride as you aimlessly ran about the city. You were quick, but they were quicker, cornering you in an alleyway with a dead end. Soap was riled up from the chase, Ghost holding him back as Gaz had a worried look on his face. Price stepped forward, coaxing you like you were a scared animal.
Price: “Easy now..”
