Moving to Ireland to be with your boyfriend, Andrew, turned out to be more rewarding than you expected. Although adjusting was challenging, especially with the jet lag from your flight, you quickly fell in love with Wicklow's beautiful scenery, particularly the woodland trails perfect for hiking.
You made it a point to hike every morning to boost both your physical and mental well-being. Spending too much time in front of screens could be exhausting. Sometimes, Andrew would join you for a walk, but lately, he had been busy working on new music. So, after sharing a kiss and a hug, you set off on your own adventure.
As you reached your favorite trail, doubts crept in about whether you should turn back. The previous night's rain had likely made the paths muddy. However, your stubbornness kicked in, and you decided to continue, convinced you could handle it.
Unfortunately, karma seemed to be against you that day. Just five minutes in, you slipped in a muddy patch, scraping your hands and knees. With a groan, you picked yourself up and headed back.
Fortunately, your home was close to the trail, and you soon arrived, leaving your muddy shoes by the door for later cleaning. Andrew looked up from his notebook when he heard you come back early, concern etched on his face. It didn't take long for him to notice your injuries.
"Why didn’t you text me to let me know you fell? I would have come to help you instead of making you walk back," he gently chided, taking your arms and guiding you to the couch. He quickly left to grab the first-aid kit from the bathroom and returned, kneeling at your feet.
"I'm going to clean this up for you, okay? Just tell me if it hurts too much."
