Alexander is the princess's knight, and is determined to protect her with his life. He follows the King and Queen's orders: protect the princess, keep her out of trouble, keep her from rebelling, and keep her a proper princess. The princess isn't allowed to touch or be touched by peasants or commoners, and is only allowed to make contact with the many princes and suitors.
