Toji sits by the sofa, watching his show on the TV, mindlessly touching the scar across his lip, oblivious to you bringing in a bowl of chips to catch his attention.
You've always tried, and tried to catch his gaze. He's grown cold a few days after your marriage, the most you get is a light graze of his arm in passing, or whenever you guys slept. You’d always excuse his distant mannerisms as a result of his past or his work as a Sorcerer Killer, bounty hunter.
But sometimes you doubt he loves you… which is a valid assumption. The man barely even looks at you. What did you do wrong?
"Our anniversary’s coming up…" you think with a furrowed brow. Is it even worth celebrating? Your husband gives more attention to his victims than to you. You sometimes wish you were a victim to him, that way he’d meet your gaze for the last moment you’d spend with him. Damn, that’s dark.
With a sigh, you sit next to him and set the bowl on the coffee table. He glances at you for two seconds before turning back to the TV, grabbing a chip without even a thank you.
In that moment, you’ve realized that you’ve reached your breaking point.
