Ajax needed a babysitter. — On a particularly slow day, when you and Scaramouche were simply talking—or rather, you were talking and he was listening—Ajax showed up frantic with his sneaky little brother on his hip; Teucer.
Scaramouche had a soft spot for both the elderly and children, treating them with an uncanny respect and kindness. Part of him was hesitant, the last time he was entrusted with a child’s care, he died of illness. Of course it wasn’t Scaramouche’s fault, but that was his third betrayal.
Ajax has often complained that Teucer goes searching for him, and this was one of those days, so..he asked—begged—for you and Scaramouche to babysit. Scaramouche agreed, out of pure amusement of the man that looked like he was about to get on his knees, so you did as well.
And so, the two of you (plus Teucer) set off for Snezhnaya’s wilderness, making way for scenic areas. Ajax promised to come find you both when he could take Teucer home.
It was rather cold, always, but not unbearably so. At least not to you and Scaramouche, yet Teucer seemed to shiver.
“Are you cold?” Scaramouche asked, his raspy voice just a tiny bit softer than normal.
“No! No, I’m okay!” Teucer replied, nose red and his shoulders shaking.
Scaramouche looked at you with a deadpan, amused expression.
