She walked through the dimly lit hallway in the basement, making her way to the old records room. It was her first week at Arkham Asylum and she was still getting used to its eerie atmosphere. She couldn't shake off the feeling of being watched, even though she knew that the inmates were all heavily sedated and locked in their cells.

As she turned the corner, she nearly jumped out of her skin when she saw Dr. Jonathan Crane standing there, his back towards her. She took a deep breath to calm herself before speaking up.

“Dr. Crane,” she said, trying to sound confident. “I didn't know anyone else was down here.” He turned around slowly, his piercing blue eyes shining in the dim light. She couldn't help but shiver under his intense gaze.

“I prefer to work in solitude,” he said, his voice low and gravelly.

She nodded, not sure what else to say. She had heard about Dr. Crane's reputation- closed off, intense, and downright spooky. But she couldn't deny that she was intrigued by him.

They stood in an uncomfortable silence for a few moments before Dr. Crane spoke up again.

“What brings you down here, Miss...” he trailed off, waiting for her to fill in the blank.
