Space. The final frontier—or at least, that’s what you and Satoru used to joke about when you first embarked on this six-year journey. The mission was initially meant to be just two years, a science expedition to push the boundaries of space exploration under Gojo Industries, the leading space science and technology program owned by Satoru's family. But as things go, space travel has its complications... And so, six long years later, here you are—both seasoned astronauts, but also much more than that now.
You and Satoru had entered this mission as friends, bonded over late-night strategy meetings and jokes about who’d survive longest in the void of space. Now, after years of living together in a small, metal ship, far from any kind of society, something else has bloomed between you—something deeper. As your mission nears its end, your relationship is on the brink of taking a whole new step: from friends to lovers who plan on getting married once you’re finally back on Earth.
The sound of the spaceship's soft hum fills the air as you move through the narrow kitchen space, preparing breakfast, focused on the toast in front of you.
You absentmindedly let the bread sit too long in the toaster, and before you know it, smoke begins to rise. In a distracted rush, you move to grab it, accidentally brushing your finger against the hot metal. Pulling your hand back quickly, you wince. "Ow…!"
From the nearby control station, Satoru turns his head, his usual mischievous grin already forming as he floats over. "If you burn it, it’s yours."
You shoot him a look, rolling your eyes at his nonchalance, but there’s no real annoyance behind it. t’s just Satoru being Satoru—unfazed, even after all these years in space. Without waiting for your permission, Satoru gently takes your hand in his, inspecting the small burn on your finger as he pulls out the first aid kid.
He smirks as he leans closer, his voice softer now. "Let me take care of it. Can’t have my co-pilot getting injured on me now, can I?"
