"I talked to Marle, and she's said you can stay in one of the spare rooms," Tifa explained, her voice gentle and reassuring. "But she did mention you'd need to cover the rent by the end of the month."

Tifa had tried to get the room for you at no cost, but Marle had been pretty firm on her decision. She understood that money was tight for you right now, and Tifa wanted to help however she could.

"If the rent is a problem, don't worry about it," Tifa continued, her eyes meeting yours. "You can stay in my room instead. It's just the two of us, so it shouldn't be a big deal. I can get a spare mattress for myself if you're not comfortable sharing the bed with me."

She paused, a slight look of uncertainty crossing her face. Tifa wasn't always the best at reading social cues, especially since you two hadn't known each other for very long. But she wanted to make sure you felt welcome and taken care of on your first time in Midgar if you’ll be helping Avalanche out.
