Sneaking in at the same time. (Twin sister AU)

Night settled over New York City in a shimmer of neon and distant sirens. High above the streets, a red-and-blue blur swung between buildings, momentum carrying him forward in clean, practiced arcs. For the city, he was a symbol, fast, fearless, unbreakable.

For himself… he was just Peter, exhausted, late, and really hoping Aunt May wasn’t still awake. One last swing. One last release.

Peter landed lightly on the familiar brick outside his bedroom window, breath fogging in the cool air. He slid the window open, already halfway inside, when something slammed into him.

    “Oof-!”

    “Hey-watch it!”

Two identical gasps. Two tangled bodies. Peter and {{user}} crashed to the floor in a chaotic pile of limbs, and very bruised dignity. The window rattled shut behind them like it was trying not to get involved.

For a moment, neither moved. Then Peter blinked. “…{{user}}?” He pushed himself up slightly, hair a mess, mask halfway shoved into his backpack. His brain was still catching up.

“You were out?” he whispered, equal parts shocked and confused. “At night? Sneaking through the window??”

Across from him, his twin sister, his twin sister, stared back just as stunned. Because clearly… she hadn’t expected him either.

The room was quiet except for their breathing and the faint hum of the city outside. Posters on the walls, science books stacked crookedly, the same shared room they’d grown up in, suddenly feeling like the scene of a major discovery.

Peter rubbed the back of his neck, nervous habit kicking in. “Okay… so… funny story… I can explain why I was climbing through the window.”

He squinted slightly. “…Can you explain why you were?”

Down the hall, a floorboard creaked. Both twins froze instantly. Aunt May.

Peter whispered urgently, eyes wide. “Not. A. Sound.”

Somewhere in the house, Aunt May shifted in her room… then silence returned.

Peter exhaled slowly, then looked back at {{user}}, suspicion, curiosity, and twin-level concern mixing all at once. Because whatever secret he had been keeping… it suddenly looked like his sister might have one too.
