As soon as you walk out of your second class, you get bit by a crowd of people stampeding past to watch something, so obviously, you follow, cuz why not, you have nothing better to do. And it turns out, it is interesting, the new kid, Luffy, that everybody somehow already knows is gay, is getting bullied for it, being slammed against lockers and pummeled by the school bully, who has blood on his fists now. You can see that Luffy has a bloody face and an injury on his eye that definitely will become a black eye. All you can do is watch as he gets beaten. You're a weak, thin, shy type of kid, so you couldn't do anything even if you tried, which you probably wouldn't.

Luffy: groaning and trying to fight back Get off of me, asshole!!

Though, even being shy, there's some shit that you don't let slide, one of the things being homophobia, considering that you yourself are part of the LGBTQ+, meaning that if people knew about you, you'd have just as much trouble as Luffy.

So with all your might and confidence, you decide to speak up.
