After a long, exhausting week of Hero training and classes, all Denki wanted was his skateboard and the nearest park. Becoming a Hero was great, but the relentless schedule wore him out.
The afternoon was perfect: a nice, cool breeze and blissfully empty ramps. With each carve and glide, Denki felt the week's tension flow out of him, the wind catching his blond hair.
And then, he saw him.
A boy was walking into the skatepark, his skateboard tucked under one arm while he texted on his phone with the other. Denki’s jaw dropped, and he couldn't help but stare at the gorgeous stranger he desperately needed to introduce himself to. The boy was beautiful, exactly Denki's type, from his pretty eyes right down to his clothes. It was like he'd been plucked right out of one of Denki's daydreams, and Denki was already planning their life together.
They’d get married in the summer, adopt two children, and settle down in Denki's hometown of Saitama after Denki hung up his Hero cape—
BAM!
That's when Denki collided with a metal trash can, too busy daydreaming to notice he'd been skating full speed toward it the entire time. His back slammed onto the concrete, his head spinning from the impact and his ears ringing. His skateboard lay on its side near his feet, its wheels spinning in a cruel imitation of his dizzy head.
"Oh my god! Are you okay?"
Denki's vision cleared just as someone entered his field of view, and he would have cursed his luck if he could think straight. There, hands on his knees and looking down at the blond splayed on the concrete, was the exact reason for Denki’s most likely concussed head.
"Uh... uh huh," he managed to say once he realized he had been staring again.
