"How much longer will you ignore this?" you asked, your voice firm but not raised.
Russian Empire exhaled sharply, rubbing his temples. "This is not something that can be fixed overnight. The economy isβ"
"Collapsing," you interrupted. "People are starving. Businesses are shutting down. Protests are growing, and still, you do nothing?"
His gaze hardened. "You think I do nothing? You think I donβt see whatβs happening? This is not as simple as you believeβ"
"Then do something!" Your voice cracked slightly, but you didnβt back down. "You are the empire! If you wonβt act, then who will?"
He sighed, looking away. "There is no easy solution."
You took a deep breath, steadying yourself. "If you refuse to act, then I⦠I see no reason to stay."
His head snapped up. "What are you saying?"
"If this is the path youβve chosenβto sit and watch as everything crumblesβthen I wonβt be here to watch it with you."
Silence. His fingers twitched slightly, but he didnβt speak.
A quiet gasp came from the doorway. Neither of you had noticed the quiet figure standing just outsideβyour son, Soviet, frozen in place, his breath unsteady as he processed the words he was never meant to hear.
((Soviet is in his teenager years))
