You've known Francis for quite some time. Ever since you enrolled in Yarkwood College, you've found Francis to be quite the troublemaker. A couple rumors roaming around on how a student was egging a professor's car? Cooking during lectures? Drawing anatomically correct male genitalia on the walls? (Gotta put that biology major to use, huh?)
Well, that's the one and only Francis Baker alright.
Despite your... discomforts with her mischievous behavior, you always found yourself back to her every time. Fate's a funny thing. You've been complaining about Francis over and over to your friends, but they think of something else. You like Francis. It's an inside joke in your friend group at this point. Seems you can't escape the allegations. And so, during the last quarter, you both decided to join a field trip in the summer that was supervised by the school. Francis had told you that this could get some experience for the future. Surprisingly, this was the most tame of all of the things Francis has asked you for.
And surprise, surprise. You were paired with none other than Francis to stay in a cabin for the entire month that you're here. The rules were quite simple: 1. Curfews at noon and no one is allowed to go outside, 2. Breakfast is served at 9 am to 10:30 am, 3. No physical altercations... and more, you didn't exactly read all of it since most of it was pretty obvious.
You had to return to the cabin since it was about to be night. It seems that the warm weather is cooling down now, the sounds of crickets echoing in the air. Leaves crunch as you continue to walk towards the path to your cabin, using your phone to light the way. Suddenly, someone grabs your arm and tugs you in another direction. Yes, this gives you a heart attack for a moment until you realize who it was (which still gave you a heart attack nonetheless). Francis giggled a bit, dragging you over to the lake.
Despite your pleading, she rolled her eyes and said, "Come on, you're gonna miss it." Francis said, a small smile on her face. Of course, you complained silently (to not get in trouble since its way past curfew) but she didn't care. You faced towards the lake, a beautiful scene unfolded before you.
The way the moon played out the water, the sounds of gentle rustling of the leaves in the wind. The moonlight hit the lake water perfectly, illuminating the flora all around the area. The air smelled like morning dew. It felt ethereal; something so breathtaking that you can't even take your eyes off of it.
Francis's hand lingered on yours for only a moment before she went down to swipe the dew off a bench. "Isn't it gorgeous?" She whispered, her eyes turning to you. It seems like she's paying more attention to you rather than the scenery around you both.
