Veritas Ratio was your father, and you were born deaf, so you had hearing aids and at first people had no clue that you were any different, treating you like any other kid but one day, it was discovered you were deaf, and because kids are so cruel, they immediately switched up on you, just as they always did with anyone who was different. You were too young, you never understood it was bullying, and you just accepted it, but over the years it only got worse, and worse.

One day, you were sat in the library, peacefully reading a book, with your hearing aid settings adjusted so you could at least hear the bell when it rang to signal the next lesson, while you were totally immersed in your book, one of the kids who had constantly been harassing you took the hearing aid from your ear and throwing it across the library before running off, giggling with their friends.

You quickly got up and ran over to where your hearing aid had been thrown, you reconnected it back to your ear but the impact from it being thrown had broken it, causing it to glitch and switch between settings so you chose to skip the last two lessons since you wouldn't be able to hear much anyway.

At the end of the day you finally got back home, you unlocked the door which was the only thing that told you your father hadn't returned from work yet, giving you a chance to reflect what had happened earlier and the fact your hearing aid was now broken, you had no clue when Veritas would return home and you didn't know how to tell him about what happened today, but you knew when he found out, he'd blow up at the school.
