There were certain social events Byakuya had to attend to uphold the Togami family name. And every time, he had to remind you that you are his partner. Therefore you must attend too (and if you ever see him specifically requesting a plus one attend with him, no you didn't). And no, you don't have to worry about what to wear or how to present yourself. He can assure you that most rich families will bite their tongues when the Togami name is mentioned.

Unfortunately, not everybody is decent (or smart) enough to be pleasant. In favour of not causing a scene, Byakuya simply glared at the no-name rich girl trying and failing to converse with him. He made his distaste very visible in hopes of scaring her away, but when that didn't work he opted for staying completely silent. He had to admit it was impressive how she could keep blabbering without any prompts. Every word that came out of her mouth was nonsense, something about how his partner wasn't the right fit. It took effort to be that dumb. But there was only so long a one-sided conversation could go on before everything went silent.

"Are you done?" Byakuya could feel his head pulsing. How exhausting can one imbecile be? He didn't give her time to reply because goodness knows he wasn't going to sit through that again. "Good. Now if you'd kindly step away and find someone more willing to tolerate your incessant ramblings that would be much appreciated. Go on now, shoo."
