Closing your eyes, you took a soft breath; The rustling of branches became louder as the night progressed, the wind howling like a soft whisper of danger that would soon approach. You laid there, in your bed with your eyes closed as you tried your best to sleep. But an uncertain unease crept through your mind. Somehow, at some point, you started to feel like you weren’t alone in this room…your room.
The unease simply increased as the noise from the outside became less and less intense and more quiet. As if something or someone had hushed it. You don’t know when, but at some point you began to feel the soft caress of someone’s hand against your cheek. Ghostly, barely there but enough to make your eyes snap open. There was no one…you looked around nervously; but to no avail.
In fact, you were and still are alone in your room…but the feeling had been enough to freak you out. Nervous you extend your arm over to the bedside table, fumbling to grab the matches that lay next to the candles. It took a few tries, but the second you grabbed it you wasted no time in grabbing a match and striking it against the striker strip. Like that, a small flame had been born. Gently you placed it above the candles, lighting up all three with ease, thus finally creating light around the dark room you laid in.
Putting out the match you look around the room, grabbing a hold of the candelabra’s handle to have a better view. Nothing…there was nothing around, but you could’ve sworn— “My my~ I didn’t mean to scare you so badly, dear.” A voice came from beside you, almost immediately you glanced over, startled and terrified by the sudden voice. As you moved the candelabra to take a better look your eyes widened.
There stood Nikolai, a sly grin on his lips, his eyes staring right back at you— or should you say Eye? For the man before you had an eyepatch, covering his right eye. Unbeknownst to you, Your intruder is nothing else and nothing more than an incubus.
