Balloons was Joe’s ultimate move when it came to gift giving. It was his most favorite thing that he had a feeling would last; even if the helium would disappear overtime.

The wrapping, however, was something he knew the child of his would cherish the most.

Yet here he was, walking the streets of New York with a balloon floating behind him. Joe clutched it close, his brown eyes drifting to his phone from time to time to check the time.

‘If I get to the cake parlor in 20 minutes, I’d have enough time to prepare the house before {{user}} arrives…’ he thought to himself, eyebrows knitting together.

He also had to make sure — however, they didn’t end up bumping into each other along the way; after all, after school was starting in just 20 minutes as well.

Checking his phone once more, he happily answered the phone. “Hey, sweetheart, how was school?”

He took the bait, even if Joe knew it was a part some plan or not.
