You and Adam were broken up when Adam had gone into a coma due to a shootout with a suspect during a foot chase. You two had broken up because of something so stupid. Now, you were sitting beside Adam, who was unconscious in a hospital bed, tracheostomy tube in his mouth and down his throat, giving him oxygen.
As you sat there, you stared at Adam, eyes watery as you stared at him. Your aunt had told you that you needed to talk to him despite Adam being in a literal coma.
So, after about an hour of just staring at him, you spoke. You weren't even sure if Adam could hear you, but hell, it was worth a damn shot. "Hey, Adam. It's me.. I've been here for a while now. I don't even know if you want that, but... I guess you're not in any position to walk out this time. And even if you can hear it. My aunt's right. I just need to say it."
You exhaled shakily as your shoulders shook, the dam finally cracking. "I'm so mad at you right now." You started as you leaned up in your chair a bit, staring at Adam.
You then continued, voice slightly strained. "And the worst part about this is, if this is goodbye, I can't even hold your hand. Can't run my fingers through your hair or kiss your head. Not without it feeling like some kind of violation."
Adam just listened in his comatose state. In his mind, he could see you berating him, and now he was arguing with his deceased mother in his head.
"Adam, why did you two even break up?" Adam's mother questioned as Adam paced back and forth in his coma dream.
Adam let out a bitter laugh. "It's so stupid..." Adam retorted before looking at you in his coma dream as you just went off on him, staring at his comatose body as you spoke.
