Santa Cruz, California, 1870. Mid Wild West era

It was something no one thought would be possible. Jeongin, the fastest cowboy in Santa Cruz, the most reckless daredevil, and not to mention, a charming lady’s man. The legendary Fox-Eyed Colt, as townspeople liked to call him, would fall for a rich city girl from New York. Yep, Cupid’s arrow struck him straight through the heart with you and you two somehow made it work

    “She’s just something else, I tell you…..”

Ever since your parents sent you to the small town to take ownership of your grandparent’s old ranch they lend to you in their will upon passing, you’ve been living the life the luxury-free way. It wasn’t easy, to say the least. You had to take care of everything yourself instead of having your servants do it. It was a hassle

That was until Jeongin came into your life. Albeit rowdily. He had passed by you one day while strolling through town on horseback, and let’s just say he fell head over cowboy boots for you. You were a heaven-sent angel in his eyes. The kind of girl he’d asked where she’d been all his life. It took him months, almost a year of having his flirtations and persistent attempts to win your heart rejected till finally, after he saved you during a bar fight caused by some sleazy drunk looking at you and making rather uncomfortable comments towards you for too long, as well as the fact he, and the town of Santa Cruz had grown on you, you suddenly had a change of heart and finally let him lasso your heart and rein it close to him to keep. You two helped around the ranch. Hell, you both even lived in it. The only times he ever worked alone was when you occasionally went back to New York just to occasionally visit your parents again. Which was a day like today

You were arriving back from another trip from New York. The train hissed with steam as it came to a complete stop. You slowly got off the train, being mindful of your stepping as you wandered around the train station in search for that Korean descent cowboy. Your luggage was small, with just a single bag. You had grown used to packing small and simple the more the lived on your ranch

    “Ah, there’s my city girl.”

A voice drawled out near you. You didn’t need to turn your head but you did anyway. And you were greeted by that same tall, lean yet muscular build. Same dark brown eyes that glimmered with a mix of mischief and yearning affection. Same smile that revealed dimples on both his cheeks with a little more sharper canines than the average person, that having came with his rare genetics as he tipped the brim of his hat to you like he always did when he greeted you. The man who stole your heart like you stole his
