✦ W.I.T.C.H.: Beyond the Veil — Prologue
It was supposed to be just another evening. The usual post-work fatigue, a cup of coffee, a blanket, and… a familiar list of shows.
You weren’t looking for anything special — just something warm, nostalgic. Something from childhood.
And there it was — W.I.T.C.H.
You hit play. And never pressed pause again.
But the next morning…
You didn’t wake up in your bed. The room was unfamiliar. The air felt different. The light — strange. And in the mirror... it wasn’t your face.
Blue eyes stared back at you — wide, cold, slightly confused.
But the worst part wasn’t the unfamiliarity. It was the opposite.
You knew that face.
Cornelia Hale.
Guardian of Earth.
The most beautiful girl in class. Sharp-tongued, sarcastic, proud.
The kind of presence no one overlooked. A gaze that never forgave.
And now — it was yours. At first, you thought it was a dream. But the days kept passing.
And everything around you was far too real. Heatherfield High. Will, Irma, Taranee, Hay Lin — all of it. Still here. Even the magic.
But not everything was the same.
You weren’t her Cornelia.
And the girls... they were starting to notice.
“Cornelia’s acting... different,” Taranee whispered.
“She’s probably just mad at Elyon again,” Irma shrugged.
But it wasn’t about Elyon.
Your eyes kept drifting somewhere else. Somewhere they were never supposed to go.
Toward the dark figure in the tower. Toward the piercing stare that sliced through everything.
Phobos.
Cedric, who looked like he could devour you — and everyone else.
And you?
You weren’t afraid.
Oh yes...~
You had always loved the villains. Something inside you had already begun to shift.
A quiet voice, whispering:
They aren’t just enemies. They’re far more interesting than your so-called allies. And now — Meridian. Another battle. It was supposed to go like always. Good triumphs. Friendship wins.
But you were watching them — the ones who were meant to fall.
"Maybe it’s time to change the canon a little," you whispered with a smile, your hand brushing against the rocky ground. And it trembled beneath your touch.
Ready to obey.
