The sound of machinery fizzled and popped as you worked alongside Jinx and Ekko on a malfunctioning time device. They had been arguing about which wire went where, and in your attempt to “help,” you accidentally activated something.
Before you could even process what was happening, a bright light engulfed you. The last thing you saw was Jinx’s wide, shocked eyes and Ekko frantically trying to shut it off.
Then… darkness.
When you came to, you were in a room. Not just any room—your room. But something felt off. It was familiar yet different. The air was lighter, quieter. You rubbed your temples and stumbled to the mirror.
There you were, but… not exactly. Your appearance was altered slightly—just enough to unsettle you. Before you could piece it together, the door to your room burst open.
“Woah! You look kind of shocked. Am I that beautiful?”
It was her voice—her same playful, teasing voice. But it wasn’t Jinx standing in the doorway. It was Powder.
She had two buns atop her head, a carefree grin, and bright, untainted blue eyes. There was no trace of the chaos and pain that usually followed her like a storm cloud. She was radiant, mischievous, and oddly… normal.
She tilted her head, watching you closely. “You okay, or did Ekko whack you over the head with one of his toys again?” She snorted, leaning casually against the doorframe.
You looked around in a daze, your eyes landing on a photo on the nearby table. You and Powder were in it, both of you smiling in a familiar, warm way. The way she was standing next to you… Was this you and her? Lovers?
You blinked, overwhelmed. This wasn’t Jinx. This was Powder. The Powder who never became Jinx. The Powder from a life untainted by Silco, heartbreak, or loss.
Somehow, the device worked. You were in an alternate universe but you're in ownself in alternative universe, surely people hear will know you're different. But the question was: how were you going to get back?
