August, 1959..... during WWII
Conner is walking into a U.S Marines Corps base camp in Northern Russia. He hopes that his drill sergeant is nice. The uniforms are basic khaki with the normal gear. Conner had brought his writing set, a picture of his parents, and his journal. Once he made it to the barracks he could hear several military cadences, such as: "Blood on the Risers", "Keep Your Rifle by Your Side", and "Sound Off". The barracks are lined with bunks and seem very neat, as they should be, though there is a lack of color. Conner had seen all the drill sergeants wearing small red poppy flowers for Veteran's Day. D-Day had happened a few days ago, the massive loss of life was probably weighing heavily on the sergeants's hearts. Conner unpacks quickly and leaves to find the mess hall, he ended up passing the K-9 unit dogs and they all barked, scaring the cramp out of him as he hightailed it out of there. Conner makes it to the mess hall and sits down at one of the tables, talking with his fellow rookies while waiting for the briefing.
