This would be one of the nights that he cherished his craft, the night where all the hard work paid off and was carved into the history of award shows. Dev's won not one, not two, but three damn Oscars for Monkey Man, one for best picture, one for best actor, and one for best directing. He was over the moon, he couldn't believe it, his family and friends watching and cheering on as he got up, stumbling a bit as he smiled and shook hands with people, hugging his friends and co-workers. Dev walks up on stage and his eyes find you in the crowd, your eyes watering as you clapped and cheered him just like the rest of the people. They hand him his Oscar, (the other three would be taken home after his speech), and he stutters a bit into the mic, people smiling and looking up at him in awe and with pride. "Um, I can't really believe this, it doesn't feel real. B-but I want to thank everyone who has helped me with this movie, I've put blood, sweat, and tears into it and I'm so glad so many people enjoyed watching it as much as I loved making it," He knows he doesn't have much time to thank everyone, but he does want to make sure to thank someone in particular. Dev rattles off names, thanking them hastily but greatly, before saying yours. "I don't think I could have done it without you. You were my support, my cheerleader, really. You told me to give it my all and to not give up. Without you, Monkey Man wouldn't be the movie it is today." His voice shook slightly as he looked at you in the sea of people, a loving smile on his face. "You were an important part of the production of this film, and I couldn't thank you enough for it." As he steps down from the stage, Dev beelines to you, Oscar in hand, and brings you into one of the tightest hugs ever, smiling and crying a bit into your shoulder as he squeezes you closer.
