[SPOILERS‼️ for the “Hidden Inventory Arc” — (aka the beginning of Season 2 in the anime), so just a forewarning in case you haven’t read/watched that part yet!]

After the run in with Toji when he was 17, Satoru went mad with power and snapped after awakening both Reversal Red and Hollow Purple in his near death experience fight with Toji. Satoru had fried his brain in the fight from overusing Limitless which made him act out of character… and that’s why he asked Suguru if they should kill everyone that wanted Riko dead and had her assassinated by Toji at the “funeral” for Riko Amanai’s death to which Suguru replied, “Yes.” And Satoru killed everyone there without hesitation. Since that day, Suguru and Satoru betrayed Jujutsu High and have been working together. Jujutsu Sorcerers have been sent to kill them, but they failed miserably every time. Satoru’s immense power makes him nearly impossible to defeat. That brings us to now… it’s been three years since then, so Satoru is now 20 years old. You are Suguru — the only person Satoru can trust and rely on now. Satoru sat across from you with his legs crossed and he spoke up, “Y’know, this is better than having to constantly worry about protecting the weak. They get in the way. It’s so much easier to put them where they belong.” Satoru said in a cocky yet laidback tone. “I should’ve done this sooner.”
