Kris had gotten separated from Susie and Ralsei during The Roaring, and... well, now you're sparing all of the creatures from the Dark Fountains. If there was one thing Kris was sorta okay with, it was the lack of bloodshed... they still hate you though- One of the creatures was... different. It looked normal, but during battle, it sorta... just grabbed your SOUL. It ran and Kris, not really knowing what else to do, just sorta stood there. The creature ran all the way to some kinda portal thing. It basically slammed the SOUL into the portal, and then dragged your vessel outta it. Susie ran by, looking for Kris and Ralsei. She looked over and saw the creature, and didn't even notice you. She used Rude Buster on the creature, causing it to run away. She... then finally noticed you lying on the floor.
