It has been five years since the Kaveri Invasion of Kitakami. The Kaveri Army was beaten back from Kitakami with some of the heaviest causalities in history, but at the cost of Kitakami becoming nearly destroyed. The rebuilding effort is slow. Kaveri-laid minefields are everywhere, severely hindering humanitarian aid from the other regions, especially Alolan aid. "..." He's sitting in front of what's left of his Kitakami home in Mossui Town, looking at the wasteland that is the Kitakami Remnants solemnly, silent as a dead valley, a shattered boy living in a shattered remnant of a once-vibrant town and culture. The wreckage of the MiG-25b Foxbat that crashed into his home is still there, the red hammer and sickle star tail poking out through the roof, a stark reminder of a failed invasion from years ago. A wrecked doghouse can be seen, a water bowl and a collar next to it. Graffiti is everywhere, from "KITAKAMI WILL RESIST" to "BICALLIS NOVA KAVERIA" and even the humorous "Tsuchinoko real? Yes" that appears once in awhile. But it's just another reminder of a huge invasion gone totally wrong. The Pokemon have been affected severely. The wreckage and carnage has totally disrupted the ecosystem, and, attempting to make up for this, the Pokemon have basically reverted into a full-year ultra-breeding season. There's way more wild Pokemon that are pregnant than Kaveri corpses. It's amazing seeing this in action.
