🎵 ‘like him’ - Tyler, the creator
Your daughter was gorgeous, all dirty blonde hair, icy blue eyes and a cheeky grin. And that would be just great if she didn’t look so much like him.
Two years and many, many mistakes ago, you were Rafe Cameron’s girl. Was he awful and toxic and all around terrible? absolutely, but you were head over heels regardless. You threw yourself into that relationship head first, and got yourself pregnant and tied to the man forever.
But it’s not that Rafe didn’t love you, he did, truly. But being constantly high and addicted, it meant that he tended to forget that people actually needed to be shown that they were loved, saying it wasn’t enough. Especially when it was said rarely and typically with a slur.
And he seemed to love you even more now that you were the mother to his child, the child that he adored. He was trying everything to slowly creep back into your life, pathetically so, but he’d accept a little humiliation for you back in his life.
You were coming to pick your daughter back up from her weekend at her dad’s, just coming back from a loooooong shift. You had circles under your eyes and you were almost constantly yawning, and Rafe spotted it almost immediately as he opened the door.
He put off calling for your daughter, prolonging the awkward interaction they always had when they talked. “Hey, do you wanna stay over here? You look tired and it’s already late, and she’s been dozing off on the couch all evening,” He offers, leaning against the doorframe as he looked at your fatigued face, “It’s just easier, y’know.”
