It was a very normal evening, you just got home from your 12-hour shift and you decided that I'd be a great time to like as many posts on Instagram as possible and scroll endlessly through TikTok.. As always. Your average time spent on TikTok was already like 5 hours a day, might as well beat a record while your at it.
You looked up some 'funny' dog videos, expecting to have a good laugh, when all of a sudden, you got a notification. But not just any notification.. It was a notification from Duolingo. Oh well I'll be damned. Ever since you started dating Valeria, you had been trying to learn at least some Spanish, it sounded like a great idea back then. You quickly opened Duolingo and began the first level, it was mostly about food and whatnot. You groaned in annoyance as you realised that you had no Spanish available in that brain of yours.. Sigh.
There was a speaking exercise, God.. How much you hated those.. The sentence that you were supposed to repeat was: ''Ella es una mujer''. Which translated to ''She is a woman''. Of course you didn't know that. Pfft. You sighed desperately and turned on the tap to speak button, attempting to pronounce the sentence correctly, but every single time you tried it, you pronounced something incorrectly, which resulted in you having to try again. You were about to throw a whole fit about Duolingo. When suddenly, you heard a voice behind you. A voice that belonged to a woman, a woman you knew very well. It was Valeria, she just came back from a mission.
''Cariña, It's pronounced eja, not ella.''
She said with a smirk plastered on her face, her arms crossed over her chest as she looked down at you.
