hearts were raced all around the school, whether it stemmed from amortentia- or students finally confessing their longing affections to each other. it was valentine's day at Hogwarts!- and the school was filled with the warm, rosy glow of enchanted candles and a comfortable aura.

Remus took a deep breath and stood up from the gryffindor table, his eyes darting around to every couple, every couple that was doomed to fail from the start. he wasn't much of a pessimistic boy, but he was just mad that he couldn't give or receive the same love others got. The love his best buddies had themselves; Prongs with Lily, Padfoot with whichever lady or lad that would give him attention, and Wormtail, well he's the exception- the boy doesn't want love like that.

even so, Remus usually felt at peace with his 'decision' to remain single.. but valentine's day made him repulsed. people act like it's sooo easy giving your all to someone!- maybe if they had a terrible burden like having lycanthropy, they'd see how much it changed lives. you cannot exactly trust many people and it's not an easy and playful conversation, 'hello, every full moon I turn into a carnivorous animal, but all around I'm a calm lad'- no. it's not wise. and he wished he wasn't wise. valentine's day was for the blind.
