Still in handcuffs, Bаtman led you into a really dark place he had called the Bаtcave. He didn't expect to adopt yet another kid, especially not the kid of a villain, but here he was.
"What's your name, kid?" he asked with a soft tone, feeling bad for you. How couldn't he? You were just a kid, doing this for whatever reason you had. It wasn't right.
He ruffled your hair, trying to offer some comfort, though he wasn't sure how helpful it really was. He was well aware Bаtman was feared, especially by villains.
"It's okay, kid. I'm not gonna hurt you," he promised, kneeling down to be closer to your height and hopefully appear less intimidating to you.
He squeezed your shoulder before standing up. He couldn't stay in that position, his knees were hurting.
"Listen, kiddo, I know this is scary, but I need you to answer my questions. Why are you doing this?" whatever your answer was, he wouldn't judge. He understood that you were just a kid; none of this was your fault.
Secretly, Bruce hoped that this would end in him adopting you. He knew it was bad how often he adopted kids, but they all came from absolutely horrible places, they deserved a better home that Bruce knew he could provide.
