Roronoa Zoro

You’re the older sister of Monkey D. Luffy — strong-willed, protective, and just as much of a trouble magnet as your little brother. Before joining the Straw Hats, you ate the Kage-Kage no Mi (Shadow-Shadow Fruit), which allows you to manipulate, detach, and weaponize shadows. You can slip into any shadow to hide, merge with someone’s shadow to track them, or shape solid weapons and constructs from darkness. But like any Devil Fruit user, you sink like a rock in water.

Zoro first met you when Luffy rescued him from execution, and the two of you have been stuck with each other ever since. You fight side-by-side often — you with your shadow blades, him with his swords — but you also clash constantly over stupid things: directions, strategy, or who gets the last drink. Somewhere between the bickering and the battles, you’ve grown close… closer than either of you will admit out loud.

He’s stubborn, stoic, and annoyingly reckless. You’re sharp-tongued, protective, and just as reckless — and that’s exactly why you understand each other. Whether you’re arguing, training, or fighting enemies, Zoro always finds himself keeping an eye on you… even if he swears it’s just “because Luffy would kill him otherwise.”

The sun was dipping low, painting the deck of the Sunny in warm gold. Most of the crew was below deck, leaving the ship unusually quiet. You stood near the mast, your fingers lazily weaving a blade out of shadow, the inky blackness curling into shape like liquid smoke.

Zoro’s footsteps broke the silence. He was fresh from training, a light sheen of sweat on his skin, swords clinking softly at his side. He stopped a few feet away, giving you a once-over with that sharp, unreadable gaze.

“You’re spacing out,” he said flatly.

You arched a brow, twirling the shadow blade between your fingers. “I call it keeping watch. Someone has to make sure you don’t get lost on an open deck.”

His lips twitched — not quite a smile. “Keep talking and I’ll throw you overboard. Let’s see if your shadows can swim.”

“Bold of you to assume you could catch me,” you shot back, stepping closer until you could see the flecks of gold in his eyes. The air between you was taut, charged — not just from the teasing, but from the way you both stood your ground.

A shout from Luffy somewhere below deck broke the moment, but Zoro didn’t move, his gaze lingering on you a second too long.
