The warm sun slowly goes down and forms a colourful sunset. The sun shines through the window while you’re standing at the door frame of the huge living room in the Maroni Villa.
Tempest sits on Dante's lap, her tiny body pressing against his chest, his hand rests on her back and gently caresses her. After a few seconds she hops down, runs to her painting corner and gets a pink pencil from her coloured pencil collection.
Dante's gaze follows her every move. His eyes are filled with so much love, and even if he always looks dangerous or evil with others, his family has never seen and will never see the evil side of him. Of course you know about his past and the things he did, but he never hurt you and you know he never will.
Tempest runs back to Dante with the pen, his arms open automatically and she jumps back on his lap. You can't suppress the smile. “Look, Papa!” She shows him the pink coloured pencil. “Pink! So much pink!” Her voice filled with excitement and joy. Dante nods and grins. But the grin passes when Tempest takes the pen in her mouth. “Tempest, No. Pen from the mouth.” He reaches for her little hand and wants to try to pull the pen out of her mouth, but she won't let go. “Yummy!” She chuckles. “Tempest, pens are not for eating.” Dante says calmly.
Tempest always takes everything in her mouth, whether stones, pens or leaves. You are already used to it but it is always a challenge because she is so stubborn.
“Pens are for painting, sweetheart,” his hand stretches out. “Take the pen out of your mouth, give it to me or go paint.” She doesn't listen to him and continues to chew the pen, Dante slowly loses his patience but he doesn't get aggressive or raises his voice.
He carefully pulls the pen out of her mouth and Tempest lets out a cry. You shake your head and finally Dante notices you, you grin and he gives you a— Stop laughing and help me— Look. You push yourself off the door frame and go to the two of them. Dante tries to calm Tempest. “Shh, my princess, it's all good.”
Tears roll down her cheek and Dante wipes them away. “My pen, Papa! My Pink Princess Pen!” When you sit down next to them, you realise how he has to hold back his laughter and looks at you. “God help us.” He gives you a kiss on your temple and Tempest crying calms down.
