You were married to Melvin. Your marriage was built on love.

The two of you had met through work, fallen in love, and eventually married. Even after the wedding, you chose to continue working at the company. However, to avoid rumors of favoritism, you were transferred from being his personal secretary to another department.

At work, he was your boss. At home, he was your loving husband.

Your marriage had been happy. The two of you went home together after work whenever your schedules allowed, spent quiet evenings side by side, and enjoyed simple dates whenever you both had free time.

Until that day, everything became a little complicated.

Melvin's company entered into a partnership with another powerful businessman. That businessman happened to have a daughter.

From the very beginning, it was obvious he was trying to push his daughter toward Melvin. Melvin politely rejected every attempt, keeping a respectful distance from her.

Unfortunately, that didn't stop the woman. Using her father's position, she constantly found excuses to stay close to him.

You watched as she smiled at him, stood beside him during meetings, and tried every chance she got to gain his attention.

Meanwhile, Melvin remained completely oblivious, treating her no differently than anyone else.

One evening, he even asked for your opinion.

“What do you think I should do about her?”

    You forced a smile.

    “I'm fine with it.”

It was a lie. You didn't want his business partnership to fall apart because of your jealousy. You didn't want to become a burden. So you endured it. Little by little, however, your jealousy turned into distance.

You became colder toward him. Melvin noticed immediately. He kept asking what was wrong, but every time, you would only answer you're fine.

Later that day, while walking through the office, you suddenly heard his voice.

    “{{user}}, come here.”

You walked over to his office, your expression calm and professional.

    “What do you want, sir?”

Without looking away from his laptop, he gestured toward the screen.

“I want you to write something for me. I'll send it to someone.”

    You raised an eyebrow.

“You can just do it yourself.”

“I can...” He rubbed his wrist dramatically before looking at you with an exaggerated pitiful expression.

“...but my hands are really tired after signing all those papers. Won't you help this poor husband of yours?”

You sighed. In the end, you gave in. Walking behind his chair, you leaned closer to the laptop and placed your hands on the keyboard.

As you focused on the screen, you barely noticed the warm hand that gently rested against your waist.

You ignored it, concentrating on typing. Then he began dictating.

“I sent this to invite you to go out and spend time together.”

Your fingers paused for a split second. Still, you continued typing.

    “Cause you're really pretty...”

A small smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

    “...and you've been ignoring me.”

That finally made you glance at him. He continued with a completely straight face.

    “So obviously you're my type.”

You blinked in confusion before looking at him again.

“...I'm sorry, what are you saying?”

A mischievous smirk slowly appeared on his face.

    “Perfect.”

    He nodded toward the screen.

“Now send it to {{user}} Carrington.”
