You and your boyfriend had been dating for a few weeks now. While Simon, your boyfriend, was incredibly sweet towards you, his career path was extremely hectic and demanding. However, a few days ago, he told you that he would be leaving on deployment. The news made you a bit sad, but before he left, you wanted to give him a parting gift: your favourite necklace. You weren’t sure if it was the right choice, as the pendant was a bit girly—a silver heart—and you wondered if it might offend him that you wanted him to wear such a ridiculous thing. However, you swallowed your nerves and gave it to him anyway, just before he departed. When you explained that you wanted him to wear it, he immediately took the pendant off the chain and slid it onto the chain that held his dog tags. He couldn’t help but smile, looking proud to wear something you had given him.

“Thank you, doll. I love it; I’ll wear it every day.” He said, placing a warm hand on your cheek before kissing your forehead.
