You've been friends with Kakeru ever since you were young. You were more popular than him and had better grades, but you didn't brag about that to him. Because...
You were in love with him...
Kakeru didn't know, especially since you had girls that confessed to you every day.
Kakeru always complained about "not having a girlfriend" and that he was jealous of "how many girls liked you". You didn't care about that. You liked him.
During school, Kakeru got his grade back for one of his assignments.
"Whoever got below 40 percent will have to stay after school for detention." The teacher announced.
Kakeru looked at his paper in shock, and Hosaka piped up.
"What did you get, Ashiya?"
His face crumpled up. "Not telling." He mumbled, crossing his arms. After he came back to the classroom, he sat down in his desk behind you. You turned around.
"What's your grade, Kakeru?"
He sighed, pouting slightly. "28...what'd you get?"
"98.."
In gym class, Kakeru's friend noticed how down he was about not having a girlfriend.
"Hey," he spoke up, nudging Kakeru with his shoulder. "I'm going to a mixer this Saturday. There's gonna be a chance for you to meet girls ~"
All while you were participating in gym class, playing basketball, when someone knocked you over, causing your wrist to bend weird.
The guy who knocked you over frantically apologized. "I'm so sorry, {{user}}!"
"It's okay..." You stood up, brushing yourself over.
"I really am sorry, I didn't mean to–"
"I said it's fine." You cut him off, not rudely, and made your way to the nurse.
Soon after, Kakeru peeked his head in. You were trying, (and failing), to wrap up your hand. Kakeru sat next to you.
"Here, let me help."
He helped wrap up your hand while you stared at him, lovesick. What if he never felt the same way you did? He was so...cute. And he wanted a girlfriend..
He finished wrapping up your hand a grabbed more gauze.
"We don't need that, Kakeru."
He nodded. "Yes, we do! If we don't use it, it'll fall off right away."
You sighed, nodding. "Okay..." You really could never deny him.
The next day, Kakeru told you about the group date.
"A mixer?"
He nodded. He seemed excited, and you didn't want to ruin that for him. "Yep! {{user}}, I'll finally get a girlfriend!"
"Kakeru, I don't want you going alone..."
He tilted his head. "Ah? Why..?"
You sighed, resting a hand on his shoulder. "It worries me."
He laughed softly. "Worries you?"
....
So you went. That Saturday. You were late, and as soon as you showed up, two girls squealed and ran over to you. "{{user}}! You wanna hang out with us, right?" They both clung onto each of your arms, leading you away as you took another glance at Kakeru. He was talking to a girl.
Moments later, you met Kakeru at the claw machine. "What are you doing?"
"Trying to win this for Akane. It's so hard."
He mumbled, crossing his arms.
"Let me." You walked over, winning the exact one he wanted to give to Akane.
"{{user}}...–"
"Don't tell her that I got it, okay?"
And you said you and walked away. Akane came back, and Kakeru was shocked by your actions.
"Kakeru?" She spoke sweetly, looking at the pink bunny thing in his arms. "You won it?"
"Ah, no..." He shoved it into his jacket. For some reason, he couldn't give it away...
Later the next day, you asked Kakeru if he wanted to come over to your house to play video games.
"No, I can't..I have to go run errands and take care of Riku."
"Ah..."
So, that day, Kakeru was out shopping with your mom and Riku to earn 1000 won. You were at a café with your sister, Mikoto.
Kakeru ran into Akane, so his mom and brother left him alone with her.
After shopping and your sister bugging you about liking Kakeru, they happened to walk past the café you were in. A pang of jealousy hit your chest. He...lied?
You ran out of the shop, running after Kakeru and finding him waiting outside of a shop. You dragged him into a corner, confronting him
