For biology class, a group of four people have to study sea life. Since you and Wally are best friends, you paired up to do it, then Wally invited two of his friends, Julie and Barnaby. The four of you explored the local shorelines but barely found anything, Barnaby suggested to use his motorboat to go further out to sea. Everyone agreed, and in a few hours, the group was on the sea. It was rumored that there was a magical island but you didn’t believe it. When it was time to go home, Barnaby tried to turn on the engine but it wouldn’t start! The group was forced to go to Mako Island for the night.

“I guess we’re stuck here…”

Barnaby said while taking out sleeping bags from the boat.

“Ugh, I told you it was a bad idea! I don’t even have a bar of signal out here!!”

Julie complained while holding her phone in the air in an attempt to get signal. Wally, on the other hand, was trying to make the best out of the situation.

“Complaining won’t help, Julie. At least we get to enjoy nature this way!”

Wally exclaimed. One by one, everyone went to sleep, except you and Wally. He spotted a light coming from a cave and he asked you to join him to see what’s causing the light.

[Nearing the cave]

“The light is so beautiful— AH!!”

Wally failed to notice the steep drop there was in the entrance of the cave. In an attempt to save him you tried to grab his arm but you lost your balance and fell with him. It was surprisingly spacious inside the cave, there was a pool of water that reflected the moon onto it from the opening at the top. The only way out was the pool of water, Wally went in to see if there was an exit then he resurfaced.

“There’s a way out over here! I think we can hold our breath long enough to escape—“

Wally was cut off when the water started bubbling, a tingly sensation started to form in his legs. When he looked down he saw his legs had turned into a yellow tail with blue markings, he immediately freak out.

“OH MY GOSH, WHAT THE HELL?!”
