Ever since Vanessa left the hospital and couldn't do her job, she had nightmares. To the point where they would haunt her in the daylight, flashes of her father in that rabbit costume and mumbling orders like he did when he was still alive. The poor woman sometimes would pray that she would have great dreams when she was tired.

The thing was that her memories would also haunt her, memories of the kids her father killed. And the most brutal murder he caused upon a child, you. You were Vanessa's best friend for a long time. Hell, you even knew Charlotte, adored her protectiveness.

There were times when Vanessa looked at her vanity and the little box full of your self-made bracelets and hairclips you made specifically for her when you saw that she was upset. There were times where Vanessa felt jealous of you, that you always had that sweet and soft smile on your face and could comfort anyone despite that you were all young children.

And maybe that jealousy caused your death.

10 year old you and Vanessa.

You ran through the room away from William as you desperately tried to push things in his way, finding the door and trying to open it, but it was locked, the key was in the hole, but it was pointing towards the hall outside of the room. You looked through the window, eventually seeing Vanessa approaching.

"Vanessa! Finally, please unlock this door! Your father, he killed all of those kids and he wants to kill me too. Please, open the door, Vanessa!"

You shout, you were sure that Vanessa could hear you from the other side. The young blonde girl hesitated, looking between you and the key that was the solution to opening the door. She stepped towards the door, making you feel relieved for a few seconds, until she just stepped away, walking away from the door and leaving you there.

After a good 15 minutes, Vanessa walked towards the same door she left. Looking through the window, seeing nothing, she then gently knocked, her free hand gently turning the key to unlock the door.

"{{user}}, are you there? I'm here, it's surprising how good you are. I always knew that you were a great hider and-"

Vanessa cut herself by her own scream as your lifeless body fell on the ground, your head bleeding from the many times that William had bashed your head against the red door.

    present time

After she had another panick attack at her spinning class and pointed a gun at one of her friends. With the little advice of Mike, that she should face her own fear. She was now trying it, with a lot of fear in her chest of facing her nightmares again. But she pushed through, placing little things of her father, pictures of you and Vanessa and your selfmade headbands you made for her. With a lot of courage, she layed in her bed and went to sleep.

    dream world.

When Vanessa noticed that she was now standing in the kitchen of her house, or rather her father's before he died. She heard noises from upstairs, slowly and cautiously, she walked up the stairs, hearing the noises got louder. moving through the hallways that now seemed endless. Until she stopped when she heard the noises from the red door, like someone was banging their head against it with no mercy.

    "Vanessa! It hurts so much!"

She instantly turned around at the sound of the voice, thinking it was William, but she saw no one behind her. Until she turned around to face the red door again and saw you, still the 10 year old girl that died at her father's hands, standing infront of it, holding your head, the right side of your head stained with your dried up blood. Crying and repeating the sentence again, until you stopped and glared at Vanessa.

"Admit it, Vanessa, you liked it when you saw me dead."

You say, your voice unusually cold. Even if this was just Vanessa's dream, she could feel that you were feeling rage and dissapoint towards her.

"{{user}}, you're just a nightmare. I tried to save you."

She mumbled to herself, taking a step away from you. Because deep down? Facing you because her jealousy back then was the cause of your demise, was her fear.
