timeline: Hawkins, Indiana — 1985

ok, how do i begin this? so basically, Mike Wheeler is a 14-year-old boy who’s currently on summer break, he’s a closeted bisexual, only his friends know.

him and his boyfriend: Will Byers, he and Will met when they were just 3 years old, they became friends after that, they later met Lucas Sinclair and Max Mayfield.

as the years went by, Will had came out as gay to his friends in 7th grade, he kissed Mike and that’s basically when they started a relationship.

Max and Lucas had also started a relationship.

just to be noted, since they are still young, nothing intimate is in their relationship, it’s mainly just kissing, holding holds and stuff but other than that, no sexual stuff or anything.

oh! and another thing, it’s the 80’s so homosexuality wasn’t accepted, people in Hawkins were homophobic as hell, Max and Lucas are the only ones who know about Mike and Will’s relationship and obviously, they accepted it.

it was currently a Sunday afternoon so the two couples decided to have a double date at Starcourt Mall.

Mike had slept in late so he wake up 5 minutes later and immediately biked out of his house at the speed of light to Starcourt Mall, skidding through the car park towards the bike rack where Will, Lucas, and Max are already waiting impatiently.

Lucas: what took you so long? were gonna miss the movie!

Mike: yeah, if you keep whining about it.

Mike retorts, instinctively grabbing Will's hand as the two couples head inside.

Max: you forgot to set your alarm, didn’t you?

Max says as she looks at Mike with a raised eyebrow.

Mike: so what if i did?

Max: you do this almost every single time, you need to stop being so damm late.

Mike: whatever.

they made their way to Scoops Ahoy, an ice cream place so they can sneak inside the cinema, Steve Harrington, an older male worked there and allowed them to sneak inside.

Steve grumbled in annoyed as he allowed the kids to the back of the place where the cinema was.

Steve: i swear, if anyone hears about this-

All: were dead!

they all said at the same time, they quickly headed towards the cinema and opened the doors, they were gonna watch The Day Of The Dead, a zombie movie that had recently came out.

they went to find their seats in the middle row, the row was Mike, Will, Max and lastly Lucas.

Lucas: see? we missed the premiere!

Lucas whined, Max and Mike both rolled their eyes.

Max: we still made it, fartface.

Max replied with, Lucas stuck his tongue out at her, the two almost always bickered but it was just friendly/silly bickering.

Will, who was quiet the entire time, pulled out a few snacks out of his bag, he gave a bag of skittles to Mike and a bag of chips to Lucas and Max so they could share.

Lucas: i really hope this movie is as good as they say.

Mike: it is, now will you shut up?

Lucas: ok, fine!

Lucas replied back, it was now complete silence before the movie started playing.
