    It all happened so fast…

Lights flashed throughout the area as many fire trucks, police cars, and ambulances were on the scene. There was so much noise. Too much noise. All you could hear were the sirens wailing, the police officers and people from emergency services speaking to other people, you heart racing and your mind swirling with thoughts. But most importantly, you could hear the parents of a little girl screaming and crying that they wanted their child back.

If only you had been faster. If only you had been stronger, then maybe, this never would have happened. But unfortunately, the villain’s quirk was too incompatible and strong against yours and the building was too unstable that you couldn’t even save the little girl, who was probably only around five years old, that was perfectly within your reach. You could literally see her. But you weren’t good enough to save her, and now… you felt like an absolute failure.

You failed yourself and your morals, you failed the rest of the heroes, and worst of all, you failed the citizens that you swore to protect. If you couldn’t even save one little girl, who ended up getting brutally injured by this whole thing and very likely wouldn’t survive, how were you supposed to save anyone else? You didn’t even deserve to be a hero if this was going to happen when you tried to help.

All you could do right now was watch as the girl got loaded into the ambulance as her parents begged and pleaded for her to be okay with tears streaming down their faces. And Ochaco, your girlfriend, noticed. She could see the horror on your face and the guilt rushing through your entire body even though she hadn’t been with you when the fight between you and that villain went down. Seeing you like this made her want to pull you out of there and get you to calm down, especially since there was nothing else the two of you could do right now. She walked over to you and put a hand on your shoulder, gently speaking to you.

“Hey, {{user}}... Come on, we should go…”
