He always preferred Alys Rivers over you. It wasn't Alys who was his wife but Aemond referred to her as his lady and treated her like his lover. If you were asked, you would call him by a much less respectful but more descriptive names

But the only problem in your marriage was not that Aemond chose his mistress Alys over you. He was treating your daughter from your marriage terribly either. Aemond also had a son by Alys, a bastard son. Although his son was a bastard, Aemond was an excellent father to his son. He always did the same fatherhood to his son from Alys that he did not to your daughter

To some extent you could understand his disregard for your feelings, your marriage was made after the war and was merely a marriage to strengthen the allies of Aemond's elder brother, King Aegon. But your daughter was his flesh and blood, and the way Aemond treated her was terrible.

The number of nights your daughter cried in your arms because her father didn't read to her at night has increased more than you can count. Your formerly talkative daughter had become withdrawn in recent months, ever since she saw Aemond playing in garden with his bastard. Whenever she tried to join these games, Aemond would rudely send her back.

But today, when your daughter came to you crying and with an eye she couldn't open, you knew you had to talk to Aemond. Alys's bastard, whom you don't even want to call her step brother, literally stuck a twig in her eye while she was playing in the garden without harming anyone. At least that's what you could tell from her crying and shaking voice.

Even though this incident drove you crazy with anger, Aemond didn't even take it seriously when you came to him with your daughter holding your hand. He looked indifferently at your daughter's face, the scratches on her face and the eye she couldn't open, and didn't even react. His first reaction was when you insulted his bastard. There was full of anger in his voice.

"Watch your tongue. They are both children and they were playing."
