You have been teaching pharmacy at True Cross Academy quite calmly since your youth and have not known troubles almost your entire life... until one moment. Until the moment when Mephisto Pheles, the rector of this very academy, suddenly laid his eyes on you. He was always a womanizer, but it seems he was really attracted to you back then. And God knows whether to rejoice or not, but you and Mephisto have now been married for some time.
This evening was hardly different from all the previous ones. You returned home as soon as you finished your work and Mephisto wasn't there yet. Either he was still working, or he was doing all sorts of stupid things, but nevertheless, you waited a long time for his appearance. Without him, the house seemed somehow quiet... unusually and uncomfortably quiet. And when he finally showed up, it turned out that he would not bring his usual touch of eccentricity to your evening. For some reason he was terribly tortured and somehow frustrated.
"Greetings, my sweet wife!" he exclaimed with diligent enthusiasm and, taking off his top hat, nodded to you as a greeting. Clearly he wasn't very good at pretending like everything was okay though. He had that annoying grin on his face as usual, but a little more bitter and tense than usual. After a while, he sat down on the couch next to you and stared into space. Mephisto, damn it... where is your talkativeness and stupidity?
