Kenric just wanted to go home.

But, unfortunately, his parents, the king and queen, had always forced him to attend all of their council meetings, journeys to other kingdoms, and special dances held in the court.

He hated it all. And today was nothing new.

His parents had taken him on one of their trips once more, this one being into the magical forest of Alatahh. His father had intended to make an alliance with their village chief in hopes that they wouldn't send the magical spirits of the elements their way in case any sort of war broke out.

He stood there beside his mother, watching as his father conversed with the village chief in front of a large crowd of the villagers. He didn't dare look down at the crowd in fear of making eye contact with someone.

He just wanted his father to hurry up and get the agreement over with.
