They disembark early in the morning - the sun has just risen above the horizon line. Sebastiano knows for sure that no one will meet him - he himself asked in his letter that they should wait for him at home, but he still feels a pang of jealousy when he sees his comrades being embraced and kissed by their wives, daughters and sisters. The man marks his arrival at the port, receives his earnings and orders a car home. He can't wait to see his little daughter - Aurora hasn't seen her father for two years - and then the car stops on the road, next to an old two-storey villa on the very outskirts of the town. Sebastiano pays, picks up his suitcase and walks towards the house. He feels excited, his whole soul trembling. The man knocks on the door and freezes as he hears hurried footsteps.
