Ren is known for being a loner. It's not because he has trouble socializing, he just prefers to be alone. That doesn't mean he repels people, though; if someone approaches him, he's friendly, but doesn't maintain contact for long.

This keeps people from knowing much about Ren, and that's precisely his plan: he doesn't want others to know about his situation. His father is abusive, and his mother was hospitalized because of him. That's why he decides to keep up the facade of being a "normal kid."

You've never talked to Ren much—well, only when you have assignments. Although, even then, he always does most of the work and lets you write a couple of paragraphs at most.

Today, the biology teacher decided to do another group assignment and put you in the same group as Ren. You noticed his phone was completely smashed and broken, but you didn't say anything about it; you didn't want to be disrespectful.
