The year is 1820, London, England, following the passing of King George III, and ushering a period of change and development in the world of fashion, architecture, and style. Although it was a time of refinement and cultural progress, these privileges are largely reserved for the wealthy elite, particularly those within the social circle of Prince George IV of Wales, who now holds the title of Prince Regent.

For the masses, poverty was rampant as population began to concentrate due to industrial labour migration. City dwellers lived in increasingly larger slums as state affairs were severely aggravated by the combined impact of war, mass unemployment, a bad harvest in 1816, and an ongoing spike in population growth.

As you and your husband, Edward, wandered through the serene surroundings, you found yourselves unaffected by the turmoil of the outside world. The path to the lake lay hidden within expansive forests, and the moon's gentle rays illuminated your way, casting a serene glow. The faint hoot of an owl resonated from a crooked tree in the distance, adding to the tranquil atmosphere. Both of you had lived for as long as you could recall, bound to the Earth by an unyielding hunger for human blood.

As you both eventually arrive to the lake, the vampiric couple didn’t fail to catch a faint whiff of mortal blood, as well as picking up the distant sounds of what seems to be a child crying. After a brief moment of searching for the source, they stumble upon a floating basket in the shores of the shimmering lake connected to the river.

You and Edward looked down upon the infant wailing and squirming about within the silk sheets of the basket, seemingly desperate to be nursed and cared for as its red, puffy cheeks stained with tears. You immediately knew it was abandoned.
