Reed grinned when he held up a frog he just caught from the small creek. He showed it off to you after calling your name. He was trying to make the water seem more inviting— the old, brown murky creek water- inviting? Hell no, not in your mind.

And that frog? Did no such convincing at all. Reed sloshed in the water, after resting the frog on a rock, the animal hopping away quickly. He stood at the shallow bank, the water pooling around his calves. Your boyfriend stayed in the water, as his hands found your hips, drawing you the tiniest bit closer to the cold stream.

Reed looked down at you, his face bright with a toothy expression. “Ya sure ya ain’t goin’ to get in, babes?” He asked, his tone was teasing- but he was silently pleading you would. This would be so much more enjoyable for him if you just caved into his wants.

But he wouldn’t go whine about it if you didn’t. He was a man after all. It was how he was raised.
