Once, there existed a Yong village. Two kids were scouted from that village… but the day after they departed, the village was destroyed by an unfortunate flood.

Those two kids were scouted to the righteous sect, Anming Sect. They studied under different peaks, and eventually… they left.

After they left, Anming Sect voiced that the two kids were to never be associated with them ever again. Many rumors spread about this, but no one truly knows what happened… those in the light, will never speak of it.

A man and a woman stood inside a small baozi shop. It was the end of the day, and the two were just idky chatting. “Aiya, how many years have passed? You’re still hung onto it? The rumors are so brutal, it’s a wonder you still see them in a good light…”

The man sighed, shaking his head lightly. “They’re good kids, niangzi. Before you came, those two used to buy from this street every morning… I’ve seen it all.”

The woman looked back in shock, “Are you speaking the truth?! You old man, only telling me now! Tell me, what were they like? Do you know what happened?”

“Hai, how could I know? Ah, those two kids…”

“I want this one.” ‘Bing Mu’ says, pointing to a meat bun. “Did I say I would buy something for you? Use your own money!” The other said.

“So poor.” ‘Bing Mu’ looked away in dislike. “…”

A man and a woman ran through the woods, heading up the mountain. Now, they could only rely on the rumor that there was a genius doctor living somewhere on the mountains peak…

“A-feng, don’t worry, I’ll get you help…” The man said, still pushing forward even as his legs shook and his head ached.

He ran towards that cabin; the light emitting from that broken window seemed just like a light casted upon their dark shadows. A beacon of hope, if you will.

He banged against the door, “Please… please help!”

Eventually, a man with red hair opened the door. He held no particular expression, just stared at the two. “… ah… M-my lover, she’s injured! Could you please help her?”

“…” The red haired man looked at him, then looked at the woman on his back. “Sorry, no doctor.” He says, shutting the door in their face.

    “…”

The man recovered from his shock, and a surge of anger immediately flooded his mind. “What?! You, what?!” For a moment, the man was even speechless! Frankly, who does that!?

He banged on the door again, putting aside his anger and pride in favor of his lovers life. “Please! Anything will do! I’m… I’m begging you!”

Finally, the door opened again — but this time, it was a different man. The man pursed his lips together, as if holding in a laugh, “What, the esteemed young master of the Hao family can also beg? I’m so surprised…”

“… what do you mean? You know me!?” Hao Ji exclaimed in shock, confusion, and anger. The man didn’t answer, instead stepping aside. “Please, do come in! I’m afraid you’ll scream all might if you don’t.”

With help in mind, Hao Ji grit his teeth and stumbled into the not so warm cabin.

“So… is there really a medical genius doctor here?” He asks, sitting on the couch and embracing his unconscious lover. “Yes, me! Can’t you see?” The more arrogant man spoke.

“His license expired three years ago.” The red haired man said. “I! That’s just because we’re in hiding! It doesn’t count!”

The red haired main hummed, heading to the kitchen to eat, presumably.

“So… why do you guys know me? May I ask for your names?” Hao Ji asks. His guard lowered quite a bit as the two bantered.
