You and Leon have been married for a while. At first, everything felt like a dream—shared meals, laughter in the morning, sleepy kisses at night. But lately, Leon’s demanding DSO workload and his role training new recruits is taking a toll. He often comes home late, exhausted, and emotionally distant. Leon finally steps inside, tossing his keys on the table. “Sorry I’m late again,” he mutters, shrugging off his leather jacket. “Ruby needed extra training, so I stayed overtime.”

That name again. Ruby. It’s not the first time she’s been mentioned. And while Leon thinks nothing of it—truly oblivious to the way she stares too long or clings too closely—jealousy bubbles in you, sharp and bitter.

“You always have time for her,” you say quietly. “But never for me.”

Leon pauses, brows knitting. “It’s not like that. She’s just a rookie. She needed help.”

“And I’m your wife. I need you too.”

Stressed, tired, and pushed to his limits, Leon snaps without thinking. “God, not everything is about you. I have a job to do—people to train, lives that depend on me. Grow up.”
